In 1988 Hermle movements changed from a 2 digit date code to an alphabetic code for the date. You will find the date code by the movement number on the back plate of the clock. Please refer to an earlier post for understanding all of the numbers stamped in the back plate of your Hermle Movment

I have a hermle mantle clock with just the fhs logo and no other info. Who knows how old that is. I wish somebody understood the dating method. I found this clock in the garbage when I was a boy in the early 1970's, it says made in Germany.
