We Create Custom Clocks

Pine Knoll Clock Shop creates many custom clocks per year.  We are very attuned to the needs of the customer as well as how the custom piece will fit with the architecture and design of the area which it will be located in.  We were recently contacted to create and install a custom 20 inch clock to replace one that was removed years ago and never returned.  The building that the clock was to be installed in was the former TW Phillips Gas Company Headquarters in downtown Butler, PA.  The building is an Edwardian era masterpiece.  The exterior of the structure is massive blocks of limestone, the Grand Lobby (the location I was to create a clock for) has polished granite walls, marble floors and a hand painted and gilded coffered ceiling.  I chose to create the clock from a slab of black marble with mother of pearl custom hour and minute markers.  The hands were hand hammered, gessoed and guilded for an antique appearance.  This turned out to be a beautiful piece.
