Schulmerich Memorial Bells Carillon

SCHULMERICH MEMORIAL BELLS CARILLON

The Memorial Bells carillon that Pine Knoll Clock Shop has just obtained,  was donated by the AMERICAN VETERANS (AMVETS) to the Ft Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan in the 1960's as part of their Carillons Accross the Nation program to enable all National Cemeteries to have carillon music for special occasions and funeral services.

Pine Knoll Clock Shop acquired the carillon in a state of disrepair from a collector in Hastings, Michigan and transported it 6 hours to the shop for restoration.

Currently the carillon has electrical relay problems that are being addressed.  After a full restoration the carillon will be calling the time in a Westminster 4/4 sequence every 15 minutes on cast bronze rods that will be played through out the hollow where we are located for all to enjoy.
Additionally the carillon reproduces the sound of over 100 bells and will play music at selected times (normally noon and 6pm) for the enjoyment of the area.

This carillon is the type one would normally hear played in the large churches and cathedrals in towns and cities around the country.  Dorrin is very honored to be able to acquire such a magnificent piece and looks forward to completing the restoration and sharing the music generated by this historic piece with the community.
